Since the beginning of 2008 the university hospital of Essen, Germany holds a campaign named "Get your disinfection" to improve hand disinfection compliance. According to the state of current knowledge, hands represent the greatest risk for the transmission of disease pathogens! Hands are considered to be the number one source for the spread of hospital acquired infections. Professional hand hygiene is therefore one of the most important preventive measures for the protection of personnel and patients.
