How schülke UK is keeping healthcare facilities supplied with infection control products during the COVID-19 outbreak

23.03.2020

Never has the future appeared more uncertain, than in these difficult days of the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate the amazing job that our healthcare workers are undertaking both to keep people safe from the virus and care for those who have become infected. Our thoughts are with you and your families. By Sue Naylor, MD schülke UK

Our mission

It is our mission to protect lives worldwide and schülke is here to support our customers in every way we can. For the past 130 years, the company has been totally committed to researching, developing and supplying the most effective infection prevention and control products for use in the healthcare system.

We are working hard to support the NHS in particular and wherever possible we are increasing production of essential supplies. Our supply chain is robust and customers can be assured that our products will reach you, although some delivery times may take a little longer than usual.

As you can imagine, we are receiving many more orders, enquiries and phone calls than normal, so please bear with us, if you don’t receive an immediate response. Whatever your question, it is important to us and we will respond as rapidly as possible. So we’d like to thank you in advance for your patience.

Effective against enveloped viruses

All schülke products for hand, surface and manual instrument disinfection have virucidal activity and all are effective against enveloped viruses. This is particularly significant at the moment as COVID-19 is an enveloped virus. Our website www.schuelke.com is being regularly updated, so customers can easily find the most appropriate products for their needs.

Responsibility and continuity

We take our responsibilities to our customers and our staff very seriously. We’ve taken steps to both protect our critical operations and our staff. This will ensure the continuity of our products for the vital work of the NHS. Our people are central to everything we do and we continue to make their safety our priority.

Earlier this week we took measures to allow staff to work from home either permanently or more frequently. This is especially relevant to employees with underlying health issues, or those living with people who have health issues. We’ve also asked staff to stop any non-essential travel and to conduct external meetings remotely using the teleworking technologies we already have in place.

Online learning and contact

Besides our infection control products, schülke also has a wide choice of online, accredited training, including modules on COVID-19. We also offer many materials such as hand washing guides, posters, training packs and videos. These will be updated in view of the current crisis and details will be made available on our website, Twitter feed and Linked In.
