Extending schülke’s industrial footprint worldwide to strengthen the proximity with our international clients and meet their expectations is a key component of our strategic plan.
For the past 16 months schülke and Seppic have been working on a joint project to build a plant in the United States, codenamed Hamburger, for a co-investment of over 60 million dollars. For schülke this plant will produce preservatives for the cosmetic industry.
The choice fell on the United States after studying several geographical areas. The US offer close proximity to important clients in the field of cosmetics, as well as a good level of local competence and intellectual protection.
This new plant project materialized with the creation of a joint subsidiary PolyKon Manufacturing LLC, the validation for investment by the Air Liquide Group, and the selection of land in Virginia, situated in the North Eastern United States where a huge part of our North American customers are and close to several strategic transport facilities.
2016 will be the year of construction. The first works are planned for May, and the first industrial lots for the end of 2017!
