Product data

Composition: Component A (white cap): 100 g of solution contain 5 g of the active ingredient peracetic acid. Additional ingredients include hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid.
Component B (red cap): potassium hydroxide, corrosion inhibitor.
Labelling according to Regulation (EC) No 648/2004: Component A (white cap) contains < 5 % nonionic surfactants and Component B (red cap) contains < 5 % phosphates.

Storage: Store in the original container at room temperature. Keep the container tightly closed. Protect from heat and sunlight. Store and keep upright!

Sporicidal activity: beneath the EN 14347 it was made an pracitical carrier test acc. to the standard methods of the DGHM, which confirms the activity against Clostridium difficile.

Special advice

Always read the label and product information before use.
gigasept® PAA concentrate component A contains an active, stabilised balanced peracetic acid. Component B provides alkali to adjust the pH, phosphates and other anticorrosion components. Preparation of the working solution by dilution with water and simultaneous mixing of the two components produces an almost neutral, buffered application solution with a pH of about 6.
Instructions for use: To prepare the desired working solution, first measure out the necessary quantity of water and then pour the contents of the twin bottles into the water. Ensure that there is no contact between the concentrates of both components. The entire contents of one pair of twin bottles must be added for every 5 liters of water to create a 2 % working solution (calculated on component A). When added to 10 liters of water, the contents of one pair of twin bottles will yield a 1 % working solution. With all cleaning agents and disinfectants, the recommended concentrations and exposure times should not be exceeded to ensure the best possible material compatibility. Place endoscopes and instruments for reprocessing in the gigasept® PAA concentrate solution. Clean and rinse the surfaces before immersion and ensure that all air is displaced from the lumen for hollow objects. Rinse all instruments thoroughly after disinfection, using water of at least drinking water quality, or preferably sterile distilled water or fully deionised water, to completely remove residues of the solution. Please follow the reprocessing recommendations of the instrument manufacturers. Do not mix gigasept® PAA concentrate with cleaners or other disinfectants. Base and additive must always be used together!
Standing time: The uncontaminated working solution has a standing time of not more than 12 hours. Renew the application earlier if there is visible contamination.
Interactions: Carryover of small amounts of application solution from the precleaning is not expected to involve interactions with cleaning agents and disinfection agents from automated endoscope reprocessing (e.g. glutaraldehyde and peracetic acid base).
Material compatibility: A matching 2-component formulation has succeeded in guaranteeing a very extensive range of action with unusually good and practice-oriented material compatibility. gigasept® PAA concentrate is not suitable for instruments made of nickel-/chrome-plated or non ferrous metal alloys parts (e.g. copper, brass etc.).
Sporicidal efficacy: According to EN 17664, the instrument manufacturers' instructions should be followed and, if necessary, the compatibility of the materials ensured before the application.
