Fields of Application

Description:

Enzym Med 4 is an enzymatic detergent that allows the careful cleaning of medical instruments. Its formulation with four highly active enzymes (proteases, amylases, lipases and celulases), supported by an innovating system of detergents, allows removing proteins, blood, secretions, tissues, fat… residues.

The enzymatic cleaning is necessary as a previous step in the High Level Disinfection and/or sterilization, since it removes the organic matter adhered to the instruments that act as an inhibitor in these processes. It is important that the enzymatic detergent is compatible with the chemical disinfectant. Te formulation of Enzym Med 4 assures this fact against the great majority of disinfectants.

Vesismin has selected the formula of Enzym Med 4 to guarantee its complementarity with the High Level disinfectant NDP Med Concentrated Plus in cold. The combined use of both products guarantees excellent results in the disinfection of medical instruments.

The product also includes a quaternary ammonium for the protection of the user against the biological risks derived from cleaning the instruments with sharps.

Applications:
  • Rigid and flexible endoscopes
  • Endoscope accessories
  • Surgical, odontological, and orthopedic instruments
  • Ultrasonic baths

Instructions for use

Product dilution:

  • Dilute the product to 0.5 – 3 % depending on the instrument dirtiness.
  • The solution can be used several times a day, but it must be changed regularly (in normal conditions 1-2 times a day; with extreme dirtiness, change after each use).
  • Use potable water preferably. In case of hard water, use deionised or demineralised water. Warm water (30 – 45 ºC) speeds up the cleaning process.

Instrument cleaning:

  • Submerge the instruments after every use. Each surface, cavity, and channel has to be filled. The usual immersion time is 5 minutes, although it can vary depending on the level of dirt on the instruments and/or the concentration of Enzym Med chosen.
  • Clean the instruments carefully and pay attention to the manufacturer advice.
  • In case of stuck dirtiness, use Enzym Med 4 previously diluted in warm water.
  • In ultrasonic baths, respect given frequencies and corresponding times.
