Product Profile

Microshield® Tincture 2 is a 2% chlorhexidine gluconate in alcohol-based antiseptic solution designed for rapid and persistent skin disinfection prior to invasive procedures. It provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, reducing resident and transient skin flora while offering a sustained antimicrobial effect. Ideal for pre-operative skin preparation, injection sites, catheter insertion, and other aseptic procedures where effective skin antisepsis is required.

Passes EN standards - EN 13727, EN 13424, EN 14476

Instructions for use

  • Use undiluted
  • Swab Skin to visibly wet area to be treated
  • Leave for 2 minutes. Allow to dry.

Composition:

  • Chlorhexidine Gluconate Solution IP 10 % v/v (equivalent to Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2 % w/v)
  • Isopropyl Alcohol IP 70% v/v

Special advice

Always read the label and use only as directed.

  • For external use only. Do not swallow.
  • MICROSHIELD® Tincture 2 must not come in contact with brain, meninges, middle ear or syringes and needles to be used for spinal injections. Solution is not for ophthalmic, bladder and peritoneal usage.
  • Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eyes contact, immediately flush with water.
  • Discontinue use if skin irritation or redness develops.
  • Flammable. Keep away from fire or flame.
  • Do not mix with other detergents or chemicals.
  • Do not use after the expiry date.
  • Contradicted in case of known hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine.
