Product Profile

Microshield® Tincture 2E is a 2% chlorhexidine gluconate in 80% ethanol skin antiseptic formulated for rapid and effective pre-procedural skin disinfection. Combining the immediate kill of alcohol with the persistent antimicrobial activity of chlorhexidine, it helps reduce skin microorganisms and supports infection prevention during invasive procedures.

Passes EN standards - EN 13727, EN 13624, EN 14476

Instructions for use

  • Use undiluted
  • Swab Skin to visibly wet area to be treated
  • Leave for 2 minutes. Allow to dry.

Composition:

  • Chlorhexidine Gluconate Solution IP 10 % v/v (equivalent to Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2% w/v)
  • Ethanol IP 80% v/v

Special advice

Always read the label and use as directed.

  • For external use only. Do not swallow.
  • MICROSHIELD® Tincture 2E must not come in contact with brain, meninges, middle ear or syringes and needles to be used for spinal injections. Solution is not for ophthalmic, bladder and peritoneal usage.
  • Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eyes contact, immediately flush with water.
  • Discontinue use if skin irritation or redness develops.
  • Flammable. Keep away from fire or flame.
  • Do not mix with other detergents or chemicals.
  • Do not use after the expiry date.
  • Contradicted in case of known hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine.
