Ecovadis

With its latest award from Ecovadis, schülke clearly underscores its pioneering role within the industry.

Ecovadis’ sustainability assessment methodology measures how effectively a company has integrated the principles of sustainability/CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) into its business and management systems – and is based on an assessment of a total of 21 sustainability criteria across four key areas: the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

The criteria cover all key CSR aspects, ranging from energy consumption to employee safety and data protection, as well as the environmental and social practices of suppliers. The assessment examines policies, implementation, and results.

In addition to environmental sustainability, social and economic sustainability are also firmly anchored in the company.

ESG Issues

Environmental

Climate protection is an important issue for us, which is why we have been setting ambitious goals since June 2022 and are registered with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Our participation in the Science Based Targets initiative demonstrates our clear commitment to contributing to climate protection and has thus been the most powerful driver of our environmental sustainability efforts to date.Our top priority here is to meet the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. Our employees also participate in World Cleanup Day to help keep the environment cleaner.

Governance

Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate strategy and shapes our daily actions. We rely on clear values, transparent processes, and responsible corporate governance to actively drive sustainable development.

Together with our employees, partners, and stakeholders, we are constantly generating new ideas for responsible corporate development. Through clear and transparent communication, we build trust and ensure that our progress is measurable and can be continuously improved.

Social

Schülke is committed to an open corporate culture with an international spirit. The diversity of our workforce is an asset that helps us achieve our sustainability goals. We have therefore signed the Diversity Charter and developed a diversity roadmap to further strengthen diversity within our company by 2025.

We support the UN‘s SDG 3, more specifically 3.8 Universal health coverage not only by manufacturing products for infection prevention and treatment, but also by adhering to the highest quality and safety standards in the manufacturing process.

SDG 7

The reduction of CO2-emmissions and the careful use of resources to continuously reduce our carbon footprint are an important part of our measures to make schülke (even) more sustainable. The following actions contribute directly to the UN‘s SDG 7 or, more precisely, to 7.2 Increase the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix by 2030 and 7.3 Double the global rate of increase in energy efficiency by 2030.

Collaboration with partners, as well as the exchange of knowledge and expertise, is a central component of our activities to sustainably advance schülke and makes a direct contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal SDG 17, in particular target 17.16 Strengthening Global Partnerships.

Our Areas of Focus

Based on a materiality analysis conducted in 2024, we identified the sustainability issues relevant to us. This was done in accordance with the guidelines of the European ESRS standard.
Throughout our entire value chain, we take into account material impacts as well as risks and opportunities.
Our positive handprint is also incorporated into our sustainability strategy.
