We have zero-tolerance towards slavery and require our supply chain to comply with our values.
Schülke UK is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity, ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking are not present in any part of our operations or supply chain. We recognise our responsibility to act transparently and to uphold the principles enshrined in the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
We regularly assess and review our practices, working closely with suppliers, contractors, and employees to raise awareness and promote compliance with anti-slavery legislation. Our approach is proactive, aiming to identify and mitigate risks associated with forced labour and exploitation.
We provide training for relevant staff to ensure they understand the signs of modern slavery and how to respond appropriately. This includes guidance on reporting concerns and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.

Schülke UK maintains its own Modern Slavery Policy. Relevant employees receive training on this policy as part of induction and through ongoing compliance activity, and all staff are expected to uphold our standards in this area.
Schülke UK seeks to ensure that all employees have the right to work in the United Kingdom and are employed in accordance with applicable UK employment law and internal policies. We are committed to fair recruitment practices and to meeting applicable legislative requirements and employment standards, including those relating to pay and working conditions.
Schülke UK undertakes due diligence on suppliers where it considers there may be a heightened risk, in line with its global Ethics & Business Integrity framework. Standard procurement documentation may include the Schülke & Mayr Supplier Code of Conduct, together with questions relating to prospective suppliers’ economic, social and environmental performance. Prospective suppliers are expected to comply with the Schülke & Mayr Supplier Code of Conduct, including adherence to the fundamental principles of the International Labour Organization and prohibitions on child labour and forced labour.
Schülke UK assesses the extent to which suppliers may present business or procurement risk. This assessment may take into account factors such as the nature of the goods and services supplied and the country of origin. Suppliers identified as presenting a higher risk may be asked to complete additional assessment questionnaires covering economic, social and environmental performance, including questions designed to support respect for human rights and compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Depending on the responses received, Schulke may request further information, hold follow-up discussions, or commission additional review activity.
Where issues are identified, the company may take action proportionate to the circumstances, which may include working with the supplier on an improvement plan, seeking remediation, or deciding not to commence or continue the supplier relationship. In addition, standard services agreements and purchase order terms may require suppliers to comply with applicable legislation, regulations, codes of practice and other relevant requirements, including requirements relating to modern slavery. Where appropriate, Schülke reserves the right to conduct audits or request supporting information to help verify compliance with our ethical standards.
In addition, Schülke’s Standard Services Agreement and standard purchase order terms that may be provided to potential suppliers include an obligation from such potential supplier that it will carry out any services in full compliance with (and ensure that all its personnel comply with) all applicable legislation, regulations, codes of practice and other requirements of any relevant government or governmental agency as these may be amended, implemented, modified or supplemented from time to time (including a specific requirement to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth)). In each case Schulke reserves the right to audit to ensure compliance to our high standards on quality and ethical behaviour.
As part of their employment, Schülke UK employees are expected to uphold schülke’s Code of Ethics and to complete relevant training on business ethics and compliance topics. Training topics are identified by Schulke & Mayr GmbH and may include anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, ethical decision-making and modern slavery awareness. We use this training to help relevant employees recognise risks and understand how concerns can be raised.
Schülke UK reviews the effectiveness of its relevant systems, processes and training on a periodic basis and will continue to monitor and improve its approach to addressing modern slavery risks where appropriate.
