Norderstedt, November 01, 2023. mikrozid® universal wipes* green line are now also available in maxi format. The new format (23 x 25 cm) of the medical disinfectant wipes is particularly suitable for the gentle disinfection of medium-sized surfaces. Like the innovative mikrozid® universal wipes* green line in the standard format, the wipe material of the maxi wipes is also completely plastic-free and produced in a climate-neutral way.
In contrast to conventional PET-based medical disinfectant wipes, the new maxi-wipes leave a CO2 footprint that is reduced by up to 30% thanks to the innovative nonwoven fabric with VEOCELTM** fibers. In addition, the optimized packaging with 90 wipes reduces plastic waste by 18% compared to the large-format premium version with 80 wipes. The 12.5% higher pallet utilization ensures sustainable transport and storage.
For the wipe material of the mikrozid® universal wipes* green line maxi schülke uses VEOCELTM fibers. The raw material wood, which forms the basis of the fibers, comes from controlled and sustainably managed forests and plantations. The high quality of the fibers with very good liquid distribution and excellent absorbency is achieved through a strictly applied manufacturing process with a particularly low environmental impact, which enables the complete elimination of fossil-based synthetic fibers.
With the mikrozid® universal wipes* green line products, schülke supports clinics and care facilities in achieving greater sustainability in their daily routines. Environmental protection must be a high priority, especially where a high level of consumables cannot be avoided to protect patients from infections. This is where the company's mikrozid® universal wipes* green line product line makes an important contribution. The new maxi format offers the perfect complement for sustainable surface disinfection. "Protecting people, the environment and the climate is our top priority," says Stefan Kukacka, CEO at schülke. "We are proud to be able to achieve these goals with the mikrozid® universal wipes* green line maxi to fulfill these goals."
As a pioneer in the manufacture of sustainable products, it is not only the green line is certified, schülke as a company has also received several national certifications for its environmental protection efforts at various levels. The Norderstedt site is EMAS-certified and has received ISO14001 certification. In addition, the fabric material is FSC-certified and schülke offsets the resulting CO2 emissions through certified climate protection projects in cooperation with ClimatePartner. schülke also successfully completed the Ecovadis scoring once again and was awarded the gold medal.
