Today, on International Women's Health Day, we would like to highlight a topic that often receives too little attention: Intimate health.
The most common form of vaginal infection is bacterial vaginosis, followed by vulvovaginal candidiasis. The symptoms are often very similar - altered discharge, itching, burning. The patient often makes an incorrect self-assessment, so that the wrong preparation is requested at the pharmacy. The determination of the pH value and a microscopic examination of the smear by a doctor are important criteria for diagnosis. Further training and a trained eye are essential for a reliable microscopic assessment. Try out our pictures for yourself.
