Today marks the 11th German Diversity Day. This day was launched by the Diversity Charter, an initiative to promote diversity in companies and institutions under the patronage of Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
The aim of the initiative is to promote the recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in the world of work in Germany. In April 2021, schülke signed the Diversity Charter in order to make a visible and sustainable commitment to an appreciative and unprejudiced working environment.
By signing the Diversity Charter, we are sending a clear signal for diversity and tolerance in the world of work and signaling our appreciation of all employees regardless of age, ethnic origin and nationality, gender and gender identity, physical and mental abilities, religion and ideology, sexual orientation and social background.
For us, an organizational culture in which diversity is lived as a matter of course means that all employees can contribute and develop their potential in the best possible way. It also promotes the diversity of ideas and products that we stand for.
"It's all in the mix" - our motto for today's German Diversity Day 2023
At schülke, our motto for German Diversity Day 2023 is: It's all in the mix.In line with the charter, we have defined a wide range of measures in our strategic diversity roadmap up to 2025 in order to make diversity at schülke visible, promote it and make use of it. One of the core elements is to increase equal opportunities for women and strengthen the proportion of women in the company. Our roadmap is divided into three time periods, which include short-term goals (by the end of 2021) as well as medium-term (by 2023) and long-term (by the end of 2025) measures and goals.
Part of our agenda is to expand talent management for women. This includes special training and mentoring programs, but also the establishment of a Women Roundtable, which serves to improve networking and exchange between women at schülke. It takes place quarterly and involves women from different departments, age groups and hierarchical levels across all countries. It also serves as a platform for women who have recently joined our company to make contacts and build a network.
In terms of recruiting, we are also working specifically on increasing equal opportunities and attracting women to schülke. We also want to close the gender pay gap between men and women in order to fulfill our responsibility as a fair employer. As far as strengthening women in management positions is concerned, our goal is to achieve a 42% share of women at second and third management level by 2025. We then want to have achieved parity by 2030. We are also striving to increase the proportion of women at the first management level. We regard discrimination of any kind as a violation of our diversity principles. We live our Code of Conduct and mutual respect.
