Church Court Dental has been named as this year’s Infection Prevention and Control Practice of 2016.
Church Court Dental, a mixed practice in Dumfries, has been named as this year’s Infection Prevention and Control Practice of the year. Mark Colwell, the practice principal, and his team received the award at a champagne reception at this year’s Dental Showcase.
After hearing of the unique challenges some practices face and the inspired solutions used to overcome them, three judges assessed entries on the infection protocols in place as well as looking for an X-factor, where the practices went above and beyond the expected.
It then fell upon Andrew Smith to present the winning team, Church Court Dental, with the 2016 Infection Prevention and Control Practice of the Year award. Andrew commented that it was a commitment to the principle of continual improvement that won the judges over, and the fact the whole team had demonstrated professionalism and dedication to reaching the highest standards of infection prevention.
For Mark and the team at Church Court Dental Practice, infection control is the field that encapsulates the fundamentals at the heart of the practice most completely. Whilst they may make it look easy, they acknowledge that it is a complex consideration which requires attention to detail, teamwork and reflection.
